• Usage Terms

  Anyone can set up a free account and start using the data, at no cost. Terms of use related to this service can be viewed here.

• System requirements

  To utilize the free DNS RPZs via our DNS Firewall service, you’ll need to manage your own DNS infrastructure.

  The service is compatible with a range of major DNS solutions, including BIND, Knot, PowerDNS and Unbound, and can also be integrated with certain DNS appliances, including Infoblox.

• Technical documentation

  Full set up details for accessing the DNS zones files via the free DNS Firewall Service are on our documentation page, including configuration details for BIND and PowerDNS.

  PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to provide technical support for any of our free services.

• Setting up an account

  Simply complete the form and submit.

• Datasets included

  The following data is included in the free DNS Firewall service:

  • Highly malicious networks (DROP)
  • Cryptojacking Hosts*
  • Known Tor Exit Nodes*
  • Porn Hosts*

  The free account only provides protection from the worst of the worst; it does not give users the breadth of protection that a paid DNS Firewall service provides - a complete list of zones can be found here.

  *These zones are curated by third parties and may contain false positives that cannot be remediated through Spamhaus.
